Unexpected Veterinarian Support for Pets

Lucy’s House has an unexpected medical assistance fund for pets whose owners are experiencing financial difficulty. This fund is not meant for true emergencies as we do not have the funding for BEVS nor does Lucy's House help with paying back bills for medical needs of pets. Due to limited funding we do not have the ability to support potential issues with cancer in pets or large bills for surgeries and procedures. Check with organizations that deal with this specifically. Lucy's House requires a medical application to be filled out, a photo of the pet, and income verification to be completed before any application can be reviewed.  All of these must be received to review an application for funding. Income eligibility is based on updated federal poverty guidelines each year at 185% of the poverty level. Funding applications is dependent on available funding. Medical Assistance Applications and photos of the pet(s) requiring medical support need to be filled out prior to receiving funding. Photos can be sent through jpeg images through email. Names of pets can be changed. Photos are shared with grant funders about the work we do via Facebook and websites. Detailed emails on specific needs are appreciated due to Lucy’s House having limited office hours. Emails at [email protected] are returned on Tuesdays/Thursdays  from 9-1. We ask that potential clients be patient due to volume of emails. If your pet needs medical support, please contact us by email for a medical application. Lucy's House does not fully fund any application and a copay would be required by the applicant for their pet to be paid at the time of service to the veternarian.
